SOM-SMARC-QCS6490 (E81)

Instructions​

These are the instruction to be followed in order to flash Clea OS to the device's UFS considering the module is inserted on a B79 SMARC Carrier:

Enter Serial Downloader Mode​

For the device to be flashed, it needs to enter "Serial Downloader Mode".

The positions of DIP switches SW12 and SW13 need to be configured properly to perform UFS boot.

  • Move switch 2 of dual DIP Switch SW13 to ON position in order to enable FORCE_RECOV# signal on B79 SMARC carrier board.

  • Connect the USB type-A to Micro USB (Micro-B) cable to the CN30 connector of B79 SMARC carrier board on one side and the other side to the Host PC.

  • Power on the B79 SMARC carrier board.

Flash the image​

  • Start flashing the image on the SOM-SMARC-QCS6490 device via the following command:
./qdl --storage ufs prog_firehose_ddr.elf rawprogram*.xml patch*.xml

The command will exit upon completion. A message like the one below will be printed when the operation is finished.

  • Once the flashing procedure has finished, move switch 2 of dual DIP Switch SW13 to OFF position in order to disable FORCE_RECOV# signal.

The device is ready to use and will boot to Clea OS after performing a power cycle operation.
